On the 15th of November the British Schools Orienteering Championships were held in Norfolk at Sandringham, hosted by EAOA. With just over 500 juniors running, it was a huge event, but thanks to help from NOR members and the other East Anglian clubs the event ran smoothly. Sandringham was the perfect venue, with a complex path network and intricate contour detail – the amount of climb caught some people out! The whole event had a great atmosphere, and the East Anglian junior squad raised £229 with a delicious cake stall!

Norwich School Year 7 – Bronze Medal Team

Norfolk juniors performed very well, with four top tens from Norwich school – Steven Denby (year 10 boys) and William Blyth-Bartram (year 7 boys) both coming 4th and only missing out on podiums by less than 30 seconds. The Norwich School Year 7 boys team then went on to take 3rd place in the team competition. Well done to all those who competed, and many thanks to those who helped run the event!

Photos from the event can be found at the BSOA website. Results are on the “Final Details” page.
