Norfolk Trail Runs
What is trail running?
Trailruns are entirely off-road, with a course marked out on paths and trails.
Race length will be approximately 5km.
The course will be marked out with arrows/tape/sawdust.
Everyone will be given a map showing the course. You may choose to use the map to identify possible 'short cuts'.
There will be regular checkpoints on the course which you must visit, but to get from one checkpoint to the next you have a choice of either following the marked route or making up your own route. The checkpoints will be approximately 1km apart.
Your 'dibber'* will record when you reach each checkpoint, allowing easy comparison of splits after the race.
One leg will be designated the 'King of the Mountains' leg.
There will also be a prize for the best 'sprinter' over the final leg of the race.
* All runners will be given a dibber at registration. This is a small plastic device that can be worn on a finger. It contains a chip that records the time you 'dib' at each checkpoint. This information can then be downloaded onto a computer immediately after the race, and you will recieve a print-out of your split times.
