Thanks to everyone who came, competed and enjoyed the North Norfolk sunshine at our wonderful venue, Felbrigg Park and Great Wood. The map was updated by Peter Leverington who spent many hours surveying the area, a splendid job he did. Alan did the main planning with myself throwing in a few ideas and tweaks to the courses. It is a great area with lots of contour detail and a variety of terrain which made planning fun! Alan spent time doing the computer work and I tagged the majority of control sites. It was a team effort that worked well.
I, along with Tim and Alan, put controls out on Saturday and early Sunday morning in glorious sunshine (although very cold early Sunday). Thanks to Bruce Marshall of WAOC for controlling the event and to Pat Bedder for her excellent organising. A big thank you to all the people who helped.
We had lots of good comments on the courses and some interesting route choices!! Thanks for coming and making all the hard work worthwhile!!
See you soon, may you always run in sunlit forests!!!! ☀☀
The Planners were Kim Eden & Alan Bedder who made good use of the NT estate to produce challenging courses with only 49 controls. Both were away on holiday at crucial times but managed to work as a team to ensure the schedule didn’t slip.
We should also mention Peter Leverington who updated the map for today’s event. He faced poor weather and long journeys from Peterborough to get the map into shape for the event.
Thanks to all for making an enjoyable and memorable event.
Bruce Marshall (WAOC)
