The British Schools Orienteering Association exists to promote, through information, advice and support, the development of all forms of Schools Orienteering including schools’ site and park activities; navigational challenges in the countryside and orienteering competition models. Navigational skills are developed through map and compass exercises.
The club has assisted over 50 schools in Norfolk with mapping and advice concerning orienteering in schools. Please contact our schools liaison officer for more information.

There are a number of regional and national school competitions:
The British Schools Orienteering Championship (BSOC) is hosted by a region or club in the middle of November. The courses are this event based on the cross-country format but are designed to be appropriate standard and length for schools. The 2015 championships will be in Norfolk
The British Schools Score Championships (BSSC) are hosted by a local club in early October. This event is designed to give school the opportunity to take part in a different type of competition.
The East Anglian Schools Championships is also held annually for schools in the region. Pupils at any school or youth group within the catchment areas of constituent Clubs of the East Anglian Orienteering Association are eligible to enter.
