Club Championships @ Bryant's Heath
Oct 17 @ 10:15 am
Bryant’s Heath is a small area of actively managed heath and woodland with some contour features, a complex, changeable formal & informal path network and patches of impassable gorse thicket providing a variety of route choice over short distances.  The area provides the opportunity for shorter courses that hopefully still have a good level of navigable difficulty – more of a ‘middle distance’ event, compared to the traditional ‘long distance’ (relatively speaking) of our usual colour coded events. For this reason the course offering is simpler but hopefully still provides something for all.

For the Club Championships:
Juniors run any course to suit (cannot swap between long / half (or vice versa) after registration), result by jury.
Seniors run long course, result via spreadsheet age adjusted.
Others can do whatever they fancy including swap between long / half (or vice versa) part way round in order to get max enjoyment / min pain (just advise download).

Although our club championships are taking place at this event, we welcome anyone who wants to have a run or walk with a bit of navigational challenge, but we would ask any groups to contact the organiser beforehand to ensure we have enough maps.

Many people like to take photos at sporting events and we’re hoping that some of the pictures taken will be shared with us for our website or Facebook pages. We don’t ‘tag’ or give contact details on Facebook, and hope that anyone else sharing photos on social media will also take care, particularly when young people are involved. If competitors or parents/guardians would prefer that photographs of individuals are not taken or published, please notify the event officials. Urban (SEOUL) @ Norwich City Centre
Oct 31 @ 10:30 am
The historic medieval City of Norwich has boundaries of the river Wensum on the east side, with parts of the old city wall visible in the south, west, and north. This is the area the competition map depicts, with the Castle on higher ground and Cathedral on lower ground, near the river. The city is laced with small passageways and many areas are pedestrianised.

The courses are planned to avoid traffic as much as possible, but competitors do have to cross roads between pedestrian areas. For this reason, under BOF rules, juniors who are still under 16 years old on 31st October can only enter courses 6 or 7, which have marshalled road crossings. These courses use the same terrain as the senior courses passing through the city centre and old parts of Norwich.

Newcomers are recommended to do Course 7 which is suitable for novice adults with limited or no orienteering experience, and for families or small groups. It is also suitable for pushchairs and wheelchair users; we advise that anyone in a wheelchair has a suitably able person with them due to one of the roads having small cobbles making it uneven though passable. Course 6 is suitable for groups and individuals with more orienteering experience.
