Well done to the NOR Juniors who this weekend travelled to Penllergaer Valley Woods near Swansea. They were competing in the final of the Yvette Baker Shield and they WON.
Congratulations to them all and thank you club captain Glen Richardson for organising and giving up your time to take them.
I never thought as an organiser of an orienteering event that I would have to write a post like this.
At yesterday’s event, Rodney Freeburn a club member for over 35 years was on his way to the start when he collapsed, luckily there were club members close by who offered assistance but despite their efforts and that of the ambulance crews and the air ambulance Rodney could not be revived.
I have spoken to Rodney’s wife, and she was very grateful to everyone who helped, and I passed on all our condolences.
Norfolk Orienteering Club (NOR) has around 200 members and seeks to promote the sport of orienteering in and around the county of Norfolk. Come along to an event or our Wednesday night training and give it a try! All events are open to the public and there will always be someone to help you get started.
