Congratulations to Marcus Richardson who became the M10 Midland Champion over the weekend. The race was part of a severely curtailed SINS weekend, in fact so curtailed it was the only event! Marcus got round his course in just over 30 minutes – in fact I’m surprised he got round at all given the number of spare ribs he got through at dinner on the Saturday night. Full results are here.

Junior Club Championships 2020
The Junior Club Championships held over from 2020 were held on the Norwich School Playing Fields at Redmayne on Sunday, 11th April.
The club junior champion, winning the Ella Gilbert Trophy, was once again Marcus Richardson. Interestingly his closest competitor, Hal Dannatt ran in the same class. Hal actually beat Marcus in the first race, but Marcus won the second race by a bigger margin and also prevailed in the head-to-head run-off for the M10 class. If they both continue it could be closely fought in the next few years.

Christmas Cracker
We’ve got a team event running(!) over the Christmas period which we hope will interest you. It promises to be fun and challenging – and as competitive (or not) as you want it to be…
2020 has been a strange year and there’s no sign of significant improvement yet. We hope this event lifts the spirits of those involved and provides some much-needed fun. Given that our Christmas parkrun is highly likely to be cancelled along with so many other events, we hope that teams enjoy this event and that it helps make Christmas more varied and more normal.
Our event is not unlike so many other successful virtual races that have been so popular this year. That said, we’re an orienteering club, so off-road is our preferred option. Runners must complete a course (stage) of a given distance. They must also ensure that the prescribed off-road percentage is achieved. Route planning is always a consideration, but for this event it’s an essential part of the process.

You can signup your team here. You will need the name & e-mail address for each runner. You will be able to change your runners at anytime up until the start of the event.
For British Orienteering clubs there will be an additional league table. To qualify for entry into this league, ALL runners must be registered BOF members for the 2020 season (not registered after September 30th 2020).
