Please come along and join us at our next orienteering event at Ling Common on Sunday, 27th April 2025.
Situated on the Northern outskirts of King’s Lynn, Ling Common is a beautiful area of mixed woodland which has been recently remapped to fully show the wealth of contour detail and a wide range of features.  The area has some great areas of runnable woodland, several sand hills, numerous ponds, and even a boulder!

From March to June inclusive we’ll be running a monthly Wednesday evening urban event in Norwich.  Using the 2021 map (in paper form), there will be a course of approximately 5km starting and finishing near a suitable watering hole.  There will be no physical controls in place so we’re encouraging you to use Maprun on your phone or watch to log your route and confirm controls are punched.  Help is available both before and at each event for anyone who is new to the system.  It is also possible to run ‘on trust’ but you will not be placed in the results.

All events will have starts open from 18:45 until 19:00.  The four dates/starts are as follows:
March 19^th – Glasshouse, Wensum Street
April 16^th – Black Horse Inn, Earlham Road 
May 21st – Rose Tavern, Trinity Street (not City Road)
June 18^th – Kings Head, Magdalen Street

Please wear a hi-viz and head/body torch for the March event.  Others should have enough evening light.  There will be a bag drop at the start of each course with collection at the finish.  If it’s raining, please be aware that bag drop is NOT under cover.
Entries will cost £3 per event.  Payment on the night in cash, please.  To sign-up, please email chairman@norfolkoc.co.uk at least a week in advance of each event.  Feel free to let us know about all the events you can run in one email.

Entries are now open for our first Orienteering Event of 2025 at Broadland Country Park (formerly Houghen Plantation), near Norwich.
The area offers a variety of different forests, heathland and some fun marshes to navigate around.
