Registration | 10:00 - 10:45 |
Starts | Mass Start 11am (Courses Close at 12:30) |
Courses | Score with Norwegian. 12 controls marked on the map. Beginners should aim for these. Each control has a mini-map showing an EXTRA control. Take a pen to copy onto your map, or use as a map memory exercise. These extra controls will be technically more challenging, and will be less visible until you're close (so won't be accidentally punched). |
Fees | Juniors / Students - £2.00; Seniors - £4.00; Families / Groups - £5.00. |
Organiser | Julia Paul 01485 541031 |
Directions | From Junction of A148/A149 (NW of King's Lynn) take A148 (Grimston Road) towards King's Lynn. At traffic lights (Deer's Leap PH) turn R (Castle Rising Road). Continue approx 1 mile, park TIGHTLY opposite Golf Club entrance. Please be prepared to double-park with other orienteers. |
Facilities | None. Parking opposite King's Lynn Golf Club will be TIGHT, please car-share and be prepared to double-park with other orienteers. |
Dogs | On leads please until after event closes. |
Other Notes | This "little gem" of an area is very runnable with nearly NO BRAMBLES (bracken is getting a bit high in places but still fast). Lots of detail so we haven't mapped every blip in the surface. Big sand hills, small drainage ditches and man-eating bogs! Planning to avoid wettest area but you may still get wet feet. Is this the only area in Norfolk with a boulder on the map? Unused for about 20 years. Unlike anything else in Norfolk. |
