Fifteen pupils travelled to Leeds at the weekend to compete in the British Schools Orienteering Championships, and returned with their biggest ever haul of medals.  Last year NOR member Steven Denby won their first individual medal, but this year they won bronze team medals in two age groups.
The first medallists were the L4 boys. The team of Gus Plater, Monty Platt, Ed Bayes, Alex Mandilakis and Joshua Kohler produced a very consistent set of results to secure third place. Gus was the highest finisher in 16th place, and the others were all close behind him. This is an amazing result considering how little previous experience the team had, and bodes well for the future.
The other medallists were at the opposite end of the experience spectrum. The U6 team of Ben Crane, Matthew Jefford and Kieran Betts have been competing together since L5 and in their final year, they finally got to step onto the podium. Ben produced probably his best ever race to come 6th individually, with Matt 14th and Kieran 16th. These results combined to secure richly deserved bronze medals.

Two of our juniors represented East Anglia in the Junior Inter-Regional Championships. The event was held in the Lake District on two of the best areas in the country, Graythwaite and Roan Head.
